Grand Saline ISD Superintendent Micah Lewis opposes Canton's water rights transfer for a reservoir, citing its potential to reduce taxable property and burden taxpayers.

Thousands of East Texas acres and more than 140 homes could be impacted if the water rights of Grand Saline Creek are given to the City of Canton, which is combating overpopulation. Grand Saline ISD’s superintendent says this will negatively impact taxpayers.
